WAND (Women Achieving New Directions)

WAND helps women discover more about themselves, develop job readiness skills and career confidence, network with potential employers and think about non-traditional career opportunities.

This program is a career development service geared to teach women the job search skills needed to find a job. Since the economic downturn in which unemployment rates have risen, it’s clear that women heads of households are among the groups taking the hardest hit. Moreover, women are still earning less than their male counterparts. Women who are full-time wage and salary workers earn only %80 of what equivalent men earn. WAND and career confidence, network with potential employers, and think about non-traditional career opportunities.

Each session is between 1 to 1.5 hours in duration. This program has been running since 2003 in locations such as churches, community centers, shelters and non-profit organizations.
