About Us

Serving the Bethlehem Community for 90 Years

YWCA Bethlehem was established in 1927 and in its 90-year history the organization has provided for girls, women and families in the Bethlehem Community.

The organization has a rich history which includes teaching English to immigrants in the 30s and hosting voter registration drives and voting machine demonstrations for women in the 40s.

In the 1960’s YWCA Bethlehem opened the city’s first nursery school and in 1984 opened the first Adult Day Services Center in Northampton County.

Today, the YWCA of Bethlehem is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all through our many programs.
